Charity Sponsored Walk 8 May 2011
The small staff team at Head Office successfully completed the Sponsored walk (2hours and 10 minutes) in association with The Rotary Clubs of Hatfield and Welwyn Garden City. The final amount raised is £349.50 25% of which, will go towards supporting other charitable causes in the Welwyn and Hatfield Rotary Clubs. We'd like to thank all those who sponsored Ruth and Pauline who made a splendid effort to raise money in this way.
Jo Swain performs daring fundraising parachute jump
Here are the photos you've been waiting for, proof that Jo Swain stuck to her word and performed a Tandem Skydive in celebration of her 60 years!
"It was a brilliant, amazing experience! If anyone ever thinks of trying it...go for it! The instructor does all the responsible bits ensuring safety straps are secured and falling out of the plane safely, too!!

Oh yes, I think he must have opened the canopy at some point as we hurtled through a cloud because it was suddenly absolute peace as we drifted and chatted in normal voices...incredible!
When we got through the cloud it was like looking at the earth from a plane but you can turn in all directions. I wasn't too sure about the landing but I came out in one piece and no after effects at all.

So I thoroughly enjoyed myself as you can see in the photo...yes he was quite nice! I had a party to celebrate and of course my classes and everyone was very generous so I have raised £200! I hope EXTEND will find it useful."
